Edgecam - Course Descriptions

Basic Edgecam

Edgecam Milling:

Basic Edgecam overview including configuration of screen and tool bars, mouse functions and methods of coordinate input. Acquiring geometry, and tool path creation and manipulation milling centers. Introduction to Code Wizard.

Edgecam Turning:
Basic Edgecam overview including configuration of screen and tool bars, mouse functions and methods of coordinate input. Acquiring geometry, and tool path creation and manipulation for turning centers. Introduction to Code Wizard

Edgecam Solid Machinist:
Identification of features on a solid models and application of tool path to solid models in the milling and turning environments.
Prerequisite: Edgecam Milling or Turning.

Edgecam Wire EDM:
Creation and manipulation of geometry and tool path for 2 and 4 axis wire EDM machines. Introduction to Code Wizard.

Advanced Edgecam

Advanced Milling
Multiplane: Creation and manipulation of user coordinate systems and rotary tool path.
Prerequisite: Windows and Edgecam Milling
Surfacing: Creation and manipulation of surfaces and surfacing tool path.
Prerequisite: Edgecam Milling.

Edgecam Advanced Turning:
Creation and manipulation of geometry and tool path for live tooling. Four axis synchronization.
Prerequisite: Edgecam Turning.

Edgecam Automation

Strategy Manager:
Creation, manipulation and application of Strategies to be used with Edgecam Solid Machinist.
Prerequisites: Edgecam Solid Machinist, Toolstore Databases and a reasonable level of competence regarding basic program logic

PCI Customization:
Basic overview of EdgeCAM's PCI (parametric macro language) functionality including recording functions and editing the ascii text file.
Prerequisite: Basic Edgecam and a reasonable level of competence regarding basic program logic.

Edgecam Toolstore/Job Manager:
Creation, manipulation and application of Edgecam Toolstore through the use of the Job Manager, Toolkit Assistant and Technology Assistant.
Prerequisites: Basic Edgecam
